{"id":167,"date":"2010-07-07T21:30:58","date_gmt":"2010-07-08T02:30:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.historicjoplin.org\/?p=167"},"modified":"2010-07-08T08:46:59","modified_gmt":"2010-07-08T13:46:59","slug":"renovated-union-depost-proposed-home-for-museum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.historicjoplin.org\/?p=167","title":{"rendered":"Renovated Union Depot Proposed Home For Museum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At last night&#8217;s City Council meeting, City Manager Mark Rohr proposed that the Union Depot be renovated to be used as a new home for the Joplin Museum Complex.  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.joplinglobe.com\/local\/x383296369\/Town-green-arts-center-museum-proposed-for-downtown-Joplin\">As covered by the <em>Joplin Globe<\/em><\/a>, Rohr believes that existing sources of funding exist and as a result, no new taxes would be required for the project.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/24317830@N04\/4499944895\/in\/set-72157623374912184\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Joplin Union Depot\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4018\/4499944895_3db922630a.jpg\" alt=\"Joplin Union Depot\" width=\"500\" height=\"226\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Joplin Union Depot not long after it was opened.
